Daughter, Mom and Me 🙂
Part 3, read Part 1 & Part 2
I feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to be a mom and have a daughter in my life, also to have a mom and dad who always cared about my well-being and who were always there for us.
As a single mom, my parents always offered to help in any way they could. My mom drove my daughter to sports, took care of her when she was sick so I could work and would make her dinner in the evenings when I needed to work. My mom supported me every step of the way! My dad was always there offering to help me every move I did with my business and when I bought a home, he was there to help with small repairs and renos. He was always happy to help and make my life easier in any way he could. Thank you mom and dad for being there for us!
I am also very grateful for my wonderful daughter who gave me so much richness and purpose.
Sharing life with family is the definition of joy and I am inspired by my parents and daughter every day. This Thanksgiving, I celebrate family and friendship and am grateful for having such amazing connections in life.
Part 2, read Part 1 and stay tuned for Part 3 this week!
I am always called to celebrate the old and the new friendships in my life! I had two wonderful weekends in August and September of friendship celebration.
One weekend was with a new set of friends where we enjoyed a potluck and shared our love for dance. It was my first time creating a potluck gathering for all of us to get to know each other and then we danced Kizomba and Bachata, my favourite dance styles at the moment! What I loved is how it all came together in a matter of 5 days with everyone working together to make it happen. I also appreciated the age range of our group from 20 years old to 65 years old. It was so wonderful to have 25 people come together to celebrate new friendship and the love of dance!
The following week was a birthday gathering for me with about 25 friends and family. We did a bistro style gathering in my living and dining room filled with great food, laughter and smiling faces. I was so happy to see friends and family mingling together and enjoying themselves. I love celebrating by having people over in the summer months and sitting and enjoying the beauty of the garden in its fullness, brightness and lushness. It always warms my heart to see everyone enjoying, relaxing and celebrating being together. To me, it was the greatest birthday present too!
We are close to yet another time of celebration with Thanksgiving this weekend. Let me know what calls you to celebrate in your life!
Part 1; stay tuned for Part 2 & 3 this week!
Thanksgiving is a time of gathering with family and friends to celebrate harvest. I wanted to share what I am grateful for, what calls me to celebrate and what family means to me. I would love to hear from you too. This kind of sharing opens my heart and warms my soul! I believe sharing in this way causes a ripple of positivity to go out to the world, so please add your thoughts in the comments or let me know your thoughts next time we meet!
What are you grateful for?
Of course, family, friends and life always give me reason to feel grateful, but I’d like to acknowledge how grateful I feel to live on Vancouver Island. It is so beautiful and peaceful (my home is too!) and the air is so clean.
When I see the turmoil in other countries, it makes me so grateful to live in a peaceful country. I pray for these countries to find another way and I have a deep respect for those that feel called to assist these countries.
I look forward to hearing from you,
Happy Birthday Canada! I celebrate the beauty of this country with my fellow Canadians! I feel lucky to live in a beautiful, vast and diverse country. I believe we are a free people; when I watch all the happenings of the world, I really feel how fortunate we are to live in such lushness, abundance, opportunity and beauty! I feel safe when I leave the house and I can relax in my home, yard and neighborhood. The air is clean and we have so much space around us filled with natural beauty – mountains, forests, rivers, oceans, parks – the green space is what nourishes me most! My heart fills with gratitude each morning as I gaze out at my garden or when I sit in the sun receiving its warmth. Thank you to family, friends and clients for adding richness to my life and for creating connection, appreciation, laughter and community. To sit and celebrate together is the most rewarding; may your Canada Day celebration be filled with all of this and more!

I have been inspired to share a heartfelt message to my Mom and I hope it may resonate with you too – whether you are a mother, connect with your mother or with other women with whom you are close.
My Mom… why she is so special!
- She gave me life, unconditional love and is always there for me in my life and my daughter’s
- She always made me feel like I am important in her life
- She always gave me the best she could; I never went without
- She taught me the value of working hard for what you want
- She taught me to always give my best in whatever I am doing and to take pride in whatever I do
- She taught me the value of family and spending time together especially around the dinner table
- She taught the joy of loving your family with food… yes I have Italian roots where cooking good food is a way of showing love to family
- She showed me how joyful it is to create in the kitchen
- She offered me opportunities she never had; wanting me to blossom and discover myself
- She wanted me to feel abundant and special; every moment of my growth from birthdays to graduations, I felt fussed over and special
- She always encouraged my creative side, even though it was something she never saw in herself
- She was always willing to help others; acts of service to help someone else is one of her most natural ways of being
- She knew how to create a home that felt cozy and warm
All the above has shaped me to be who I am today. I am ever so grateful! I love my family, being a mom, cooking, being creative in my home , kitchen , garden and work space, making my home cozy, I love to be of service and nurture others in my work and personal life and I am not afraid to work hard and always give my best.
This has transcended into my own mothering of my daughter. My desire was to offer her a loving environment so she could blossom into her best self, reach her fullest potential and enjoy discovering her personal bliss. It’s been such a joy to be a mom!
Thank you Mom for being you; your love and presence is valued by me and so many, and you still continue to touch others’ lives every day.
Blessings and love to all mothers on this special day; may the love they have given and continue to give unconditionally warm your heart today!
