After an intense winter, spring may finally be in the air! Our bodies need our love and support now more than ever. Here are my favourite products for self-care during March and April – all are available at my Bodacious Boutique and nearly all products are made in BC!

Tuscan Farm Gardens Echinacea Tea, Lip Balm & Soap
Boost your immune system and decrease painful inflammation with this keystone healing flower. Echinacea Tea wards off colds, activates your body’s cleansing pathways, and helps you regulate stress. The Echinacea Lip Balm is a mini first aid kit for your purse and a must when you travel. Not only does it heal dry lips, you can use it on dry skin patches, to repair cuticles, to treat bug bites, to soothe minor burns, and even as an eyebrow wax. It’s self-care in a tiny package!

Tuscan Farm Gardens Lemongrass Scrub
Exfoliate, cleanse and moisturize in one step! Reduce muscle aches and pains with lemongrass, which also stimulates the senses. Its scent is uplifting, refreshing, and warming!

Tuscan Farm Gardens Tuscan Sunshine Oil
Use after skin brushing or exfoliating for an uplifting and purifying experience. This oil increases circulation too.

Japanese Mint Oil
When used topically, Japanese Mint Oil has a stimulating effect that can improve circulation, relieve pain, help sprains, reduce muscle inflammation, and even ease cramps. It is known for being particularly great for the back because it soothes tension and reduces inflammation. Rub on your temples for headache relief. For instant relief from allergies and congestion, add a few drops of Japanese Mint Oil to a bowl of hot water, then use a towel to cover your head and the bowl to breathe in relief.

Fredrich’s Honey Propolis Tincture 25% 
Use this tincture as a preventative health measure. Take it daily to support your immune system and tame inflammation. At the first sign of a sore throat, take a dose to ward off illness. Normal dose is 2-3 drops under your tongue once a day. You can add it to your tea or in a smoothie alternatively. Known to help arthritis symptoms as well.

Natural Beeswax Tealights
Invite the nurturing and nourishing smell of honey into your space with these high-quality candles. Burning beeswax even cleanses the air naturally!

Neti Pot
If you have seasonal allergies then you need the Neti Pot in your life! This simple device clears out your sinuses and flushes out toxins. Details on how to use it available at my Boutique.

Body Brushes/Dry Brushes
Use every day to stimulate your lymphatic system and flush out metabolic waste. You can use them wet or dry (but if you use them wet, you’ll have to replace them more regularly). To wake up your system in the morning, use the Lemongrass Soap and Scrub in the shower with a body brush, then dry off and use the Tuscan Sunshine Oil. Guaranteed to make you feel alive!

Bamboo Charcoal Brush
Similar to the dry brush, this brush features super soft bamboo charcoal bristles that are naturally antibacterial and work especially well for drawing out impurities.

Enrich your everyday life by bringing your full presence to whatever you are doing. Activating your presence means tuning into yourself and focusing your energy and senses on the moment. You are showing up as an aware and mindful woman. When you stand in your full presence, you can roll with life’s ups and downs with greater ease. You can tune into your innate wisdom and tap into your intuition to guide you. It’s a comforting, yet freeing feeling!

I consider mindfulness to be an important part of self-care and I invite it into my life through a simple daily ritual.

Begin with a warm cup of herbal tea, dim the lights, turn off your phone and any other electronic distractions, and sit down. Light a beeswax tealight and watch the flame dance as you sip on your tea. Take deep breaths in-between. Empty your mind and tune into the flavours of your tea and the aroma of the beeswax in the air. What do you taste? What do you smell? What do you hear? What do you see? What are you feeling? Take a moment to acknowledge the herbs you are drinking and receive their benefits. This is your me-time and with each breath, bring your intention and focus on being in that moment.

In this process, you might find new energies and emotions bubbling to the surface. Don’t be afraid of giving these new feelings and thoughts some attention. They serve you and guide you.

When you finish your tea, take time to reflect on your experience and ease back into moving your body. It’s a good time to stretch and feel good about nurturing your mind, body and soul!

This ritual can be as long or as short as you want it to be, but the key is that you are taking the time to be in your full presence. When the weather is warmer, I love to practice a similar ritual sitting outside in my garden where I can tune into the beauty of nature.

Remember, practicing mindfulness and being present is a lifelong practice. We are never 100% present all of the time, but the more we can activate that state of being, the more it becomes our default.
